Impact Box's mission is to transform how the social sector uses technology. We want to bring about a sector that is more impactful, efficient and data-informed. We do this by providing charities and social enterprises outstanding software solutions that address the day-to-day challenges they face. Using our knowledge and experience of the sector, we are able to provide solutions that help organisations increase their impact and deliver on their mission.
Our work falls into three main areas:
We deliver one-off software implementations for charities and social enterprises, often on the Salesforce platform.
We build tech for good products that benefit the whole sector. In 2020 we are launching Tent, a platform that allows charities to create engaging digital spaces for the people they work with at a fraction of the cost of custom development.
We provide ongoing support and capacity building to help organisations make best use of the software they have.
Our staff team is what makes us who we are. We work hard to foster a culture of openness, innovation and collaboration. We want to be a workplace where all ideas are taken seriously, regardless of the job title of the person presenting them. We are also fully committed to ongoing learning and development, both as an organisation and as individuals.
Normally our office is between Stockwell and Oval in South London. But like many organisations we are currently operating remotely. It is difficult to predict what the situation will be by January but we may still be operating fully or partially remotely when this role starts. We will only return to the office when it is appropriate to do so and we are committed to respecting the fact that what constitutes an appropriate point to return may vary from person to person.
We are looking for an outstanding individual to join our team as a Solutions Architect. The Solutions Architect will be responsible for all aspects of project delivery, from initial requirement gathering to designing and implementing a solution in Salesforce and then training users once the system is built. On projects they manage they’ll be responsible for assigning tasks to others in the team, managing the client relationship and tracking time spent against estimates and timelines. They will also provide both ongoing support and capacity building to Impact Box’s support clients. We are looking for someone who is passionate about the work we do, would thrive in the fast-paced environment of a small start-up and is excited by the prospect of joining a rapidly-growing organisation. Ultimately the role requires a combination of technical aptitude and excellent project management skills. This is reflected in the person specification below. Whilst it would be advantageous for applicants to have experience of both developing solutions on the Salesforce platform and project management, we would encourage applications from those with significant experience in just one of these areas, providing that they can demonstrate why they are confident they’ll be able to develop the other quickly once they start.
We think we have a compelling offer for the successful candidate, including:
The chance to contribute to the development of a dynamic and growing start-up with a culture of openness and collaboration - we are open to ideas for where we should go from everyone in the team
The opportunity to work with a diverse range of social purpose organisations
Numerous development opportunities associated with a role that is varied and excited, as well as clear career progression and a dedicated training budget
Annual salary review and other benefits including a cycle to work scheme
Opportunity to gain Salesforce Certifications (associated costs covered by Impact Box)
As an organisation we also support flexible working. This includes working from home being completely normalised (i.e. no asking your line manager or having to give a reason) and flexibility in start and finish times. We recognise that everyone's situation is unique and are committed to eliminating as many barriers as possible to working for us. If you have particular requirements you’d like to see if we can accommodate please email email@example.com to discuss.
Meeting with clients to understand requirements
Project management, including managing client relationships and leading weekly project sprint meetings
Design and implementation of solutions on the Salesforce platform
Testing and review of solutions developed by colleagues
Presenting solutions to clients and gathering feedback
Data migration, client training and other tasks associated with the ‘go-live’ process
Managing time against estimates and tracking the overall time spent on projects
Providing ongoing support to our support clients
Ideally, the right candidate will have:
A passion for working with charities and other social purpose organisations
Experience of implementing solutions on the Salesforce platform (or similar)
Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively manage client relationships
Previous experience of leading projects
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Excellent time-management and the ability to cope with a varied workload as well as delivering multiple projects in parallel
A commitment to feedback and learning
We’re not looking for a specific work or education history. You may have gained these skills working in a role in another start-up or a charity. But equally you may have acquired these skills in an entirely different role or setting. We encourage applications from candidates with a diverse range of experiences.
We’re committed to creating an inclusive workplace that promotes and values diversity. Organisations that are diverse in age, gender identity, race, sexual orientation, physical or mental ability, ethnicity, and perspective are better places to work. But more importantly, creating an environment where everyone, from any background, is welcome and can do their best work is the right thing to do.
Applications are only accepted if submitted through the online form on our website. The deadline for applications is midnight on Sunday 6th December. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to interview on Monday 14th December (by video call).
We think interviews should be about showcasing your experience and skills, not a test of ad hoc presentation skills. We therefore provide all interview questions in advance to shortlisted candidates. There will also be a short task to prepare in advance of the interview.
